Dr. McLaren has 30 years of consulting experience in fisheries and water quality. His clients have included the electric utility, oil and gas, and chemical industries, as well as international shipping, municipalities and state and federal regulatory agencies. He has extensive experience as a technical director, project manager, and expert witness. His work with the electric utility industry has concentrated largely on CWA §316(a) and (b) studies and FERC relicensing of hydroelectric projects. Dr. McLaren also is an expert in the field of Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDA), which has given rise to the current methodologies for assessing service losses from natural resource injuries and compensating these losses, frequently by means of habitat restoration.
