Ms. Devan Nichols is a marine biologist specializing in environmental compliance for industrial water use facilities, and ecological impacts of various anthropogenic stressors on marine life. She has worked as an environmental consultant providing scientific and regulatory support to ensure that industrial water intakes and discharges protect aquatic life. Her field research ranges from assessing the impacts of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill on micronekton, to constructing an ocean monitoring system to assess impacts of offshore winds farms on fish and zooplankton populations. She has experience with identifying and enumerating various marine species, creating SOP’s for large complex projects, and coordinating sampling efforts. Ms. Nichols has project management and database coordinator experience for large complex projects including at nuclear power plants.

Devan holds an MSc in Marine Biology from Nova Southeastern University; and a BSc in Marine Biology from Salem State University.
