John Young, P.h.D.
Principal Scientist / Vice President
Dr. Young is a Principal Scientist experienced in designing, conducting, and directing environmental research programs, management and analysis of data, and communicating results to clients, regulatory agencies, and the public. His experience encompasses 17 years in environmental consulting, including 4 years with ASA, and 13 years in the environmental department at Consolidated Edison Company. As a consultant, his work has centered on ยง316(b) and water quality issues. At Con Ed he was also responsible for compliance and response to pesticide regulations, electromagnetic field issues, dredging, transmission corridor vegetation management, wetlands, and wildlife issues. He helped coordinate industry response to regulations in these areas through participation in the Utility Water Act Group and the Electric Power Research Institute efforts. John provides technical direction for ASA's applied statistics and empirical modeling services.
