Mr. Michael Taylor is a senior scientist with 15 years of experience in fluvial, estuarine, nearshore, and deepwater oceanographic studies. His consulting experience includes technical lead and project management roles in applied research and monitoring for field studies supporting hydrothermal model calibration, validation, and thermal discharge assessments and entrainment reduction methodologies in relation to Clean Water Act §316(a)(b), fish passage and hydrologic surveys for hydropower facilities in support of FERC relicensing, water quality monitoring and benthic habitat assessments for NYSPSC Article VII compliance studies, NPDES/SPDES monitoring, and field studies and analysis in support of engineering design and oceanographic site characterization studies for various industrial clients. Mr. Taylor’s technical expertise includes deployment planning and oceanographic survey design, quality control, data processing and analysis techniques involving acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP) and other oceanographic instrumentation, quantitative techniques for time series, spectral, and statistical analyses, data management and visualization.

Mike holds an MSc, Marine Science (Physical Oceanography) from University of North Carolina; and a BSc in Physics from University of Georgia.
