ASA prepared and implemented a custom field research study design to provide EPRI and it’s membership with topic-specific results to allow for informed decision making in sighting the location of a fish return system.
ASA prepared feasibility evaluations for several facilities in Illinois, Florida, New Hampshire, Delaware, North Dakota, and Indiana. ASA’s evaluations have two key features: the evaluations are site specific, and they are performed in coordination with biologists and economists.
The Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Hudson River Estuary Program (both part of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation), in conjunction with the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission, contracted the ASA Team (ASA and Alden Research Laboratory) to investigate options for replacing hardened shorelines with “soft engineering” technologies which can maintain current sociological functions while restoring ecological function of the habitat.
As part of SPDES permitting, ASA assisted National Grid in the evaluation of BTA alternatives for minimizing the environmental effects of Barrett’s CWIS and thermal discharge on receiving waters of Hempstead Bay.
ASA identified, implement, and prepare the field studies and § 122.21(r) reports for seven Dynegy facilities located on Illinois cooling lakes and the Ohio River. Serving as the prime contractor, ASA assisted Dynegy in formulating an approach strategy to completing the (r)-reports and was responsible for the quality and timely completion of several studies and reports required under the § 316(b) Rule.
